The Message Classes are presented every Thursday night by various Inayatiyya Center teachers. Each class is devoted to a particular theme that primarily draws on the teachings of Pir-o-Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan, Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan and Pir Zia Inayat Khan. Teachings from other established spiritual paths may be woven in to further illuminate the theme, as well as to demonstrate the essential harmony of religions and other wisdom paths. To deepen understanding of the teachings, attendees are led in traditional Sufi practices of Zikr and wazaif, in addition to meditations, readings, and sometimes spiritual conversation.
Classes offer companionship with others in exploring spiritual life. Formerly these classes were held at the Abode. They are now presented virtually via Zoom. Classes are free and all sincere spiritual seekers are welcome. We plan to resume live classes in the future, as well as to continue providing the classes virtually. Envisioning Heaven
In every human heart lives a memory of paradise. Heaven is not somewhere we go but a vision we learn to see here and now. When the heart is purified, the whole world becomes radiant with divine beauty and shines through all forms. Through meditative imagination, we can learn to polish the heart’s mirror until the earth itself becomes luminous with God’s presence. The great Persian sages called this imaginal realm Hurqalya where spirit and form meet in a dance of continual creation. This parallels the Tibetan yogic tradition of transforming perception itself so that every landscape becomes a Pure Land. To envision heaven is to awaken that sacred perception so the light of the soul illuminates even the simplest moments of life. During our class, we will explore and taste that same paradise that has always been within and around us and patiently waits to be seen.

Mystic Relaxation
Please join us for teachings from Hazrat Inayat Khan on the subject of mystic relaxation. An extension to our recent class on the awakened heart and hope, we will revisit some of the practices that we enjoyed last month, deepening our experiences with Murshid’s teachings on the importance of mystic relaxation on the spirit path.

Monthly Zikr Circle
